US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has announced that Russian and Iranian oil will remain under sanctions, with no exceptions planned.
The previously issued licenses applied only to oil loaded onto tankers in early March, which had already been sold, the secretary noted.
Bessent also stated that secondary sanctions could be imposed on Chinese banks in connection with Iran.
