Türkiye and Uzbekistan sign labor migration agreements

Türkiye and Uzbekistan have agreed to develop cooperation on labor migration. The two nations have agreed to deepen cooperation on labor migration. A new decree will come into force on March 1, enabling citizens of Uzbekistan who have legally resided in Türkiye for at least three years to obtain work permits.

Furthermore, the parties agreed to legalize the status of Uzbek citizens currently residing in Türkiye illegally.

Another key agreement involves the Turkish Ministry of Labor compiling a list of the most in-demand professions, which will be shared with Uzbek authorities. Additionally, a separate accord was reached to bring 2,500 construction workers from Uzbekistan to Ankara for specific projects.
