The Russian tourist traffic to Turkey increased in January 2022, Russia ranked first in terms of inbound flow with almost 280,000 arrivals.
The number of Russian citizens who visited Turkey in January doubled compared to the same period last year, the ATOR press service reports, citing data from the country's Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
As noted in the travel association, Russia ranked first in January with 279,800 arrivals (19.95% of the total number of foreign citizens), followed by Bulgaria (167,000 arrivals, 8.33%) and Germany (almost 140,000 arrivals, 6.98%).
ATOR said that the tourist flow increased by 108.5%, while the number of arrivals in Istanbul and Antalya increased by 109.2% and 66%, respectively. Istanbul was the most popular destination with 182,000 visits (65%). At the same time, almost 72,000 arrivals to Antalya were recorded (25.6%).
