Flooding after earthquake: over 10 people die in Türkiye

Floods caused by heavy precipitation, as well as mudflows, are a deadly threat to the south-east of Türkiye, where a terrible earthquake occurred just over a month ago. As a result of the floods, 14 people died, the number of victims may increase.

Flooding occurs in southeastern Türkiye shortly after devastating earthquakes. The latest data on the natural disaster was announced by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic, Suleiman Soylu.

Flood victims

According to the minister, the total number of victims as a result of mudflows is 14 people, 12 of whom died in the province of Sanliurfa, another two – in Adiyaman.

Five people are missing.

According to previous data, mudflows claimed 13 lives, rescuers were searching for 10 missing.
