Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau to operate in Moscow

It is planned to open an Azerbaijani tourism office in Moscow, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development reports.

The Minister of Economic Development, Maxim Reshetnikov, had a meeting with the Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan Fuad Nagiyev. The topic of the conversation was cooperation and tourism development.

"A meeting took place in Moscow... The meeting participants discussed the date of the official opening of the representative office of the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau in Moscow",

the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation said.

The flow of tourists to Azerbaijan is growing. The destination is in demand among Muslim tourists. At the beginning of this year, the flow of Russian tourists to Azerbaijan increased by 40%.

"Azerbaijan is one of the most popular countries for receiving tourists from Muslim countries. Russia is interested in this market. We are now working on introducing Halal and Muslim friendly standards at the federal level",

Maxim Reshetnikov said.

According to Fuad Nagiyev, closer cooperation in the tourism sector will be possible to the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau in the Russian capital.

During the meeting, the prospect of  the Azerbaijani-Russian Tourism Center's establishment on the basis of one of the universities training personnel for the tourism and hospitality sector was also discussed.
