The President of Azerbaijan had a telephone conversation with First Vice-President and acting President of Iran, Mohammad Mokhber. The parties discussed the creation of a route between the Zangilan district and Nakhchivan via Iran.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and acting President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, First Vice-President Mohammad Mokhber, had a telephone conversation.
The heads of state once again drew attention to the historical friendly and neighborly ties that exist between the countries, as well as the fraternal relations connecting both peoples.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed the meeting between Ilham Aliyev and President Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a plane crash, which took place on the border, as well as the agreements that were reached there. Among other things, many important issues were discussed at that meeting, including development of Azerbaijani-Iranian relations and strong political will.
Ilham Aliyev declared Baku's full commitment to the agreements reached with Ebrahim Raisi. Azerbaijan’s leader indicated that Azerbaijan will continue to work on their implementation together with Iran.
In addition, the heads of state discussed work on creating a route connecting the Zangilan district of Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan via Iran.
