Two Russian ships that are part of the Caspian flotilla have arrived in the capital of Azerbaijan. They are making a friendly visit to Baku, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense said.
The Ministry clarified that the visit had an unofficial status.
The small artillery ship "Volgodonsk" and the hydrographic warship "Anatoly Guzhvin" arrived in Azerbaijan.
The welcoming ceremony for the crews was conducted by representatives of the Azerbaijani Navy.
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense spoke about the visit program. Thus, Russian sailors will tour the capital of Azerbaijan. During it, the crews will be able to get acquainted with Baku's historical and cultural monuments.
In addition to this, a friendly sports match between Russian and Azerbaijani sailors is planned.
The visit will take place until June 30.
