Georgian foreign trade declines - statistics

Georgia's foreign trade turnover in the first half of 2024 dropped by 1.8% compared to the same period in 2023, totaling $10.3 billion, the Georgian National Statistics Service reported.

From January to June 2024, the country imported goods worth $7.5 billion, a slight increase of 0.2% from the same period in 2023. The trade deficit rose to $4.6 billion, up 4.9% from the previous year.

Meanwhile, in 2023, Georgia's foreign trade turnover surged by 12.5% compared to 2022, reaching $21.5 billion. Exports of Georgian products amounted to approximately $6.1 billion, marking a 9.1% increase from 2022.

Imports for the year totaled $15.4 billion, a 14% rise compared to 2022.
