European Commission stops providing financial support for Israel

The European Commission's decision to end financial support for Israel comes amid a military operation that the Israel Defense Forces is conducting in the Gaza Strip.

Israel remains without financial support from the European Commission, its suspension was announced by EC President Ursula von der Leyen.

According to her, the decision was made due to the "horrific events" in the Gaza Strip, which Brussels is convinced must be stopped. Von der Leyen listed the key demands: an immediate ceasefire and free access to humanitarian aid. The radical Hamas movement must release all captured Israeli hostages.
