The price of North Sea Brent crude rose above $80 per barrel during trading on Wednesday, breaching this level for the first time since June 22.
September Brent futures on the London ICE exchange climbed to $80.07 per barrel at 6:07 PM Moscow time, showing a 7.97% increase.
Minutes later, at 6:12 PM, the benchmark slowed slightly to $80.03 per barrel (up 7.92%) on the day.
Meanwhile, August WTI crude futures rose by 7.55% to $75.76 per barrel.
