An oil tanker attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz was struck and stopped by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which said a fire broke out on board.
"The Togo‑flagged tanker Trend <...> attempted to illegally pass through the Strait of Hormuz; as a result, it was struck and came to a halt due to a fire",
the IRGC said.
The strike was carried out by IRGC naval forces. Shipping traffic in the strait has fallen to record lows this week.
