The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure of Kazakhstan is discussing with Samsung the possibility of launching production in the republic.
"The production of household appliances in the country has inreased 3.8 times... At the same time, talks are underway with the South Korean company Samsung Electronics and the Chinese HKC... Samsung is interested, but it is unclear when the deal will be completed",
Minister Kanat Sharlapaev said.
The Minister clarified that if an agreement is reached, Samsung will begin producing TVs and washing machines in Kazakhstan.
"We need to change regulatory documents in order for a company to come to us",
the Minister said.
