U.S. lawmakers to visit China in September - report

A bipartisan group of U.S. House lawmakers will make an official trip to China later this month, lawmakers told NBC News.

Both Democratic and Republican members of the House Armed Services Committee would participate in the U.S. congressional delegation to China.

The lawmakers "don’t know yet” whether the group will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping during the trip. 

This would be the first such official visit by members of the House since 2019.
