We work with all partners - Pashinyan on NPP construction in Armenia

Armenia continues to work with countries possessing nuclear technology on the construction of a new nuclear reactor, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

“At the moment, we are working with all our partners - France, the United States, Russia, South Korea, and China - and the necessary decisions will be made after receiving reliable answers to all possible questions,” Pashinyan said.

The PM recalled that on August 8, 2025, in Washington, he signed three memoranda of understanding with U.S. President Donald Trump, one of which concerned the energy sector, including nuclear energy.

In October 2025, Pashinyan announced that Armenia had made a strategic decision for its next nuclear reactor to be small modular, and that discussions on this matter are ongoing with five countries.
