Explosions were recorded on the Iranian island of Qeshm, Press TV reports.
"Explosions were heard in southern Iran: more than five explosions were recorded... on Qeshm Island, while earlier, four explosions were heard in the Strait of Hormuz",
the media reported.
No information is yet available on casualties, damage, or the cause of the blasts.
According to Axios' earlier reports, US warplanes were striking Iranian targets in the Hormuz region.
