Data from Iran’s Statistical Center show the annual inflation rate reached 38.9% in October, showing 1.4% increase from September.
Food prices climbed 6.4% compared to the previous month, while non-food goods and services rose 4.2%.
The country had experienced a brief easing of inflation this spring, when the rate fell to 38.7% in May (0.2% lower than in April), due to slower growth in food and housing costs.
