Lebanese authorities have refused to accept Iranian financial aid for $60 mln, fearing international sanctions.
Beirut has refused to accept Iran's financial aid, which amounted to approximately $60 mln, Fars News reports.
Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Mojtaba Amani spoke about the negotiations between Tehran and Beirut. According to Amani, Lebanese government officials cited fears of Western sanctions as the reason for their refusal. The Iranian diplomatic representative noted that Tehran's aid could improve the country's socioeconomic situation amid the crisis.
