Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are planning joint production of petroleum products, including automobile and aviation fuel, Uzbek Energy Minister Sherzod Khodjayev announced.
Tashkent may join a refinery project under construction in Azerbaijan, with potential for further product imports.
The two countries are also cooperating on hydrocarbon extraction on the Ustyurt Plateau and on exporting green energy from Uzbekistan to Europe via Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
According to Khodjayev, the joint initiatives will help stabilize Uzbekistan's fuel market.
