The world's largest aviation business fair Passenger Terminal Expo 2023 in Amsterdam has recognized Astana’s international airport as the best regional airport in Central Asia and the CIS region.

The airport has received one of the most prestigious awards in the global airport industry, the World Airport Awards. It is considered a benchmark of quality that evaluates the level of customer service and amenities of more than 550 airports around the world.

The winners are determined through a survey filled out by airport customers over an 8-month period. The survey evaluates the effectiveness of KPIs - check-in, arrival, transfer, shopping, security, and passport control at check-out.

According to the airport’s board chairman Daulet Khamzin, Astana topped the list for the second consecutive year. "Astana airport is the second busiest airport in Central Asia and the 12th busiest among the post-Soviet countries. Our airport is the base for a number of foreign airlines and major domestic carriers," Khamzin said.
