The State Duma announced the creation of a grain hub in Iran, from where the Russian products will be exported abroad. The details of the project will be worked out in April.

Leonid Slutsky, the leader of the Russian LDPR party, at a meeting with the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, announced the creation of a grain hub that will export Russian products to other countries.

He noted that the North-South Transport Corridor will be used to sell Russian grain, through which grain will be delivered to Iran, and then exported to other countries. The hub will either be in the port of Bandar Abbas or Bandar Khomeini.

According to Slutsky, the grain hub will be the largest in the region. The construction of the hub will be performed by Moscow and Tehran. Slutsky also invited other countries to take part in the consortium.

The LDPR leader underlined that Moscow would start "working out" the details of the project after the visit of Russian presidential aide Igor Levitin to Iran, which is planned on April 7.
