Russia has offered maintenance services for Türkiye's S-400 systems, Dmitry Shugaev, head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia, said. This is explained by the need to maintain the combat capability of the missiles over time.
"We have a long history with Türkiye on the S-400, they need to be serviced, we offer comprehensive maintenance of the systems that are available, taking into account that a certain amount of time has passed, they need to be maintained in the appropriate combat condition, this requires basic maintenance",
Dmitry Shugaev said.
According to the defense official, Moscow remains prepared for military cooperation with Ankara across various sectors.
Let us recall that the S-400s purchased by Türkiye from Russia in 2019 became a stumbling block in Ankara's military cooperation with the USA regarding the F-35 fifth generation fighter project. The Pentagon excluded Ankara from the aircraft development program, citing the purchase of Russian S-400 systems. Negotiations between the USA and Türkiye on the fighter are ongoing.
