Iran will not sever friendly relations with Russia at the request of European countries, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said.

He criticized European expectations that countries maintaining friendly relations with Russia should adjust or sever those ties based on European demands, calling such expectations unreasonable.

"It is completely illogical to expect every country that maintains relations with Russia and has established friendly ties with it to sever these relations because of Europe's demands," Esmaeil Baghaei said.

According to him, Iran’s relations with Russia are based on mutual respect and shared interests, Mehr reported.

"Before criticizing others, they should be responsible for their own actions and stop shifting blame, as this approach does not help address the problem," Esmaeil Baghaei said.
