Azerbaijan identifies most seismically active region in Karabakh and East Zangezur

The Republican Seismic Survey Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan has identified the most seismically active zone within the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions.

According to Tahir Mammadli, head of the seismology department, the Kalbajar district currently holds this status.

Mammadli explained that the Kalbajar region has the geological conditions and tectonic predispositions for earthquakes, which are less prevalent in other parts of the area.
