Ex-Deputy Minister of Education appointed Judge of Constitutional Court of Georgia

Giorgi Modebadze became the new Judge of the Constitutional Court of Georgia. The decree on his appointment was signed by the country's President Mikheil Kavelashvili. A presidential administration statement highlighted Modebadze's extensive judicial background and previous government service.

"Modebadze has served within Georgia’s judicial system for many years. He also previously held the role of Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth",

Administration of the Georgian President stated.

Imerlishvili had led the Constitutional Court since 2016 before announcing her departure earlier this month for another professional opportunity.
