Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived in the Belarusian capital Minsk on Monday to attend the 4th Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security.

Lavrov is expected to address the conference's plenary session, outlining ways to advance Moscow's proposal for a Eurasian security architecture and develop the proposed Eurasian Charter of Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st Century.

The diplomat will also present Russia's assessment of the military and political situation across Eurasia, the ministry said.

On September 25, representatives of Belarus, Vietnam, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Myanmar, Russia, and Tajikistan announced the launch of negotiations on drafting the charter, with decisions to be made by consensus.

The conference will be held November 3-4 with over 600 delegates from 50 countries.
