Trump hails call with Syrias al-Sharaa

U.S. President Donald Trump said he had a "great conversation” with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.

"I had a great conversation with the highly respected president of Syria, and all of the things having to do with Syria and that area. So, we’re very happy about it," Trump said.

According to a statement by the Syrian Presidency, al-Sharaa received a "lengthy" phone call from Trump.

Today, the Syrian President will meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
