The Turkish state-owned company Botas has signed an agreement with BP for the supply of LNG, Türkiye's Ministry of Energy, Alparslan Bayraktar said, noting the country will purchase approximately 1.2 million tons of LNG per year under the contract.
"This cooperation is particularly important in terms of ensuring our supply security, especially in the winter months, increasing resource diversity, and strengthening commercial flexibility",
Alparslan Bayraktar said.
It should be noted that last year Türkiye purchased over 9 million tons of LNG, with imports exceeding 7 million tons in the first half of 2025. Türkiye purchases most of its LNG from the USA, Algeria and Nigeria.
