Azerbaijan and China held a meeting, which resulted in a memorandum of cooperation on cargo transportation.
According to Azerbaijan Railways, the document was signed during a meeting with a delegation from the government of the Chinese province of Jiangsu.
The Azerbaijani and Chinese sides exchanged views on attracting new cargo to the Middle Corridor, discussed current issues of cooperation and China's subsidies for transit through the territory of Azerbaijan. As a result of the negotiations, the parties signed a memorandum of cooperation, which would help develop bilateral relations in the field of railway transport and increase the volume of cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor or the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
Let us note that the first block train from Jiangsu province is on its way to Azerbaijan. It departed from China on June 20, and its arrival in Baku is expected in the very near future.
