Macron: EU should open dialogue with Russia

During a press conference following a European Council summit, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that European leaders should open a constructive dialogue with Russia.

"I believe it is in our interests as Europeans and Ukrainians to find a suitable basis for resuming this discussion",

Emmanuel Macron said.

According to him, the European side should begin contacts with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the "coming weeks".

Macron emphasized that any discussions aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine must involve all relevant parties, not just be held between the EU and Ukraine.
