According to Sistan and Baluchestan Regional Border Guard Commander Reza Shojaei, Iranian border guards intercepted 48 boats attempting to smuggle fuel.
"During several operations, 48 vessels carrying contraband fuel were discovered and detained",
Reza Shojaei said.
Security forces discovered and confiscated approximately 73,000 litres of illegal fuel. Nearly 100 people operating the vessels were also arrested. The total value of the seized cargo is estimated at around $50,000.
